Professor Alex Morales on Humanitarian Trip to Cambodia

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Educator & Humanitarian Alex Morales, Professor of Education at California State University Long Beach, recently led a team on a humanitarian mission to the nation of Cambodia.

The 13 day trip included bringing rice, noodles, books, and medical supplies to the Cambodian families still suffering from the effects of the genocide in this country. The Team had an opportunity to visit with students, families, and genocide/landmine victims in the cities of Siem Reap, Battambang, and the capital city of Phnom Penh, and traveling on the Mekong River, They also visited the infamous "Killing Fields" of Cambodia.

Alex Morales serves on the Board of Directors for an International non-profit organization called "Hearts without Boundaries" who provide the financial resources to bring children to the United States who require "Open Heart Surgery" and do not have the resources to pay for medical attention or have the medical facilities and doctors who can perform delicate and intricate surgeries. The children are then reunited with their families in Cambodia.

On this most recent trip, Professor Alex Morales' Team received an audience with His Royal Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia. (The Hon. Alex Morales pictured with King Sihamoni at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh).
